[Yukio’s centered in the feed, having turned the camera on purposely this time. He’s wearing the same black uniform jacket that he arrived in, but there are dark circles forming beneath his eyes that weren’t there a few days ago. Not that he was sleeping terribly well before his arrival in Nesreca (or... ever, really), but the sudden relocation has been exceedingly stressful for him.

He’s smiling, though. Now that he’s had a chance to acclimate it’s time for some more questions, and there’s no reason to be unpleasant about it.]

I’m curious to know just what assets we have to work with in this place. I understand that food and supplies are difficult to come by, so I would appreciate some more information about Credinta, as well as what may be available on this side of the river.

[His expression turns a bit more serious.]

For those of you who have been trapped here longer... Have any of you encountered either Libitina or her master in person?

He broke something? [ Oh, Karkat. Not in a fit of rage, Allen hopes, because you seem more practical than that; but he'll cover you anyway, just in case. ] Ah— He gets a little carried away at times, but he usually means well.

And... Not anymore. According to Credinta's records, he lived there about a century ago. You can barely tell what or who he used to be now.

[He hesitates, trying to think of how to put it.]

His face was horribly disfigured, the flesh looked like it was dripping off. [ beat ] I don't think the changes stopped at the surface.

[O-Oh, Allen. Yukio looks confused for a moment before he realizes just what Allen's talking about.] Ah-... no. I meant how he types in all capital letters.

... That sounds more like a ghoul than a ghost... [But it still doesn't explain he power he wields.

[...No, he doesn't really get the connection between this and the phrase Yukio used, but it's good to know nothing needs fixing.]

It's a form of expression for him, I think. [ Aside from his colourful ranting. ] It seems to be common for people from his world.

[He doesn't think to clarify 'trolls', because to him, they're all people.]

They're definitely supernatural beings of some sort, though. Perhaps we'll get further by finding out who he was before he became what he is now. The records from Credinta said he managed to kill everyone in Nesreca with only Libitina's help, and that's when he was presumably still human.

I'm afraid not, but Ma— My mentor's been there—[ is there ]—for a considerable amount of time, so he may know. I'll be sure to ask him if you don't find out first.

[Which is an entirely plausible prospect, considering how little he sees of Cross. A considering pause, then.]

You don't suppose we should be finding out about the occult too, do you?

Definitely. The more we know about the environment he came from, but more we know about him by proxy.

He just prefers to be there when he can, despite the risks. [ drily: ] You could say he didn't take very well to this side of the river.

... Are there any points where their security is weaker and entrance easier?

[No, Yukio, his master is about as discreet as a raging bonfire, but he is terribly sneaky about it. People are usually so charmed or so intent on punching his face in, they don't think to question him, and Allen supposes having Maria around helps.

He's too insufferable to be arrested, that's what he is.

All of this is manifesting in Allen's expression as the flattest lineface.]

Very. [ MOVING ON. ] Several of us have been there a couple of times for supplies.

Yukio gets that. He doesn't like it, but with circumstances as they are it's pretty much unavoidable.]

I'm sure there are, but they're distant enough that we haven't been able to attempt searching with all the monthly distruptions getting in the way. Some friends of mine are planning to go looking soon, though.

Hmm... has anyone been able to find any maps in Credinta? They would be much more reliable than just wandering blindly...

On top of that, a city so far from everything else is bound to rely in incoming shipments for certain things. Any information of that sort could be useful as well.

Not yet, but they can't be that hard to come by. A bookstore should have some.

[Pauses, rubbing the back of his head. This bit hasn't so much as occurred to him.]

If supplies are delivered to the city, there might be maps with the routes suppliers take. [And the part where they might learn when shipments are. For... gathering supplies. >>;]

That gets a bit of a blank stare from Allen, who's still trying to apply this to their hunt for Libitina and her master, but let it not be said that he isn't quick or resourceful. The word 'supplies' triggers a gear-shift soon enough, and it's clear by the downward turn of his mouth — unhappy, but definitely not unwilling — that he's caught on. Although he's not too keen on the idea of making off with shipments of supplies, with winter just a few months away and its threat of possibly rendering even fishing impossible, it would do them well to stock up in advance.]

[ a quick nod ] Would the docks be a good place to look?

[It doesn't occur to him to look for an airport. They don't have those back home.]

Where he's from, gliders and hot air balloons are the pinnacle of aviation science. The word 'aeroplane' did exist, but actual usage in daily life was fairly unheard of. It doesn't even occur to Allen that 'plane' could be short for something else.]
