Okumura Yukio

[Rin doesn't hear what they're saying because he is busy marching ahead into the graveyard. Blacky jumps down from his shoulder and starts looking around as well. They make their way over to the first open grave they find and peer into it. Honestly he's not sure exactly what it is he should be searching for.]

Are we lookin' for skeletons or somethin'?

From:

[Meanwhile, Allen has extracted himself so he's standing somewhere off to the side, close enough to know what's going on without getting in anyone's way. Looks to Yukio in silent inquiry.]

From:

[Yukio sighs at Rin. Sometimes it's like he never attended class at all.] We don't need to disturb the graves, but speak up if you spot any remains.

[Yukio starts moving through the graves.] If there are ghosts here, they'll make themselves known on their own. This is mostly just exploratory, though... [His eyes sweep over earth and grave markers. Not happy about those open graves.]

We'll have to be careful of ghouls, but that's a less likely option considering how long ago these people died.

From:

[Moving on to the next open grave Rin looks in this one too. There appears to be something in there that isn't dirt. Something solid, smooth, and while dirty lighter in color. He points down at it.]

Oi! There's somethin' in this one!

[He motions for the others to come over by waving his arm and hops down into the hole. Blacky hops up onto the grave marker to perch and watch.]

From:

Ghouls? [ His knowledge of them is purely fictional, but he does have an idea of what they are. ] Don't worry, I've been here a good while and never seen any.

[Allen will hurry over to look, but keep to a corner of the grave so the brothers can do their job. Tim circles down to hover next to Blacky, just out of paw's reach.]

What is it?

From:

[EXASPERATION.] I didn't say to jump into an open grave, Nii-san...

[Glancing at Allen as he moves nonchalantly toward the hole.] That's good. There wouldn't be much here for a demon to work with anyway.

[Alright, on to the grave. Yukio's just crouching at the edge and peering down for now because, well... there's no need for two of them to be in the hole. And some of us can't hoist ourselves out quite as easily as others. :|]

Are they remains, Nii-san? Be gentle.

[Blacky can't help eying Timcanpy again. The little flying thing is just too interesting. Rin stares up at Yukio, crossing his arms momentarily.]

How else am I supposed to get a closer look?

[He crouches down and brushes some of the dirt away from the object. It's definitely remains so he doesn't pick it up. Just gonna leave that where it is.]

Looks like a skull.

From:

[That is, indeed, a skull. Now Allen winces, just a minute twinge around his eyes. He'd assumed it's unoccupied, but― If the investigation demands a closer look, he would've gone in too.]

Do you see anything suspicious?

From:

You could try actually looking before you leap. [Enjoying the light brotherly bickering, Allen~?]

Any visible markings or damage to the bone?

From:

Whatever.

[Totally brushing that remark off. He pokes away some more of the dirt, trying not to disturb the skull. It looks mostly in one piece to Rin. He's no expert though and scratches at his head.]

It looks normal...For a skull.

From:

[He's letting it sail past him for the moment! Though Yukio's tone of voice does remind him slightly of himself. He's pretty sure he's said the same thing to Kanda before at some point. It probably ended in a fistfight.]

[ squints at it from where he is, then shakes his head slightly and looks to Yukio ] Do you think we should take a closer look?

From:

[No fist fights here. Not unless Rin does something very, very, very stupid.

Yukio adjust his glasses, giving the skull one last look before shaking his head.] No. That body was probably buried before it happened.

[He offers a hand to Rin.] Come out of there.

From:

[Rin takes Yukio's hand, but uses his own strength to easily push himself out of the hole. He brushes some dirt off of his clothes once he's up.]

So there's no clues here?

From:

[Well, that was mildly disappointing, but not unexpected. Allen steps back from the grave and turns to scan the rest of the area.]

There're still several we can check.

From:

[Yukio stands as well, dusting off his hands.]

We definitely don't need to jump into any more graves. [RIN.]

From:

Fine. You can check next time. Where to teach?

[He stuffs his hands in his pockets and waits.]

From:

[ a slow smile at that exchange and a light: ] Tim can check [ or take a video, really ] for us if we do need a closer look. This way.

[Leading them to an area where most of the open graves were gathered. Work on them appears to have started around the same time, then hastily abandoned.]

From:

[Yukio heads right over to the site as before, no hesitation, stepping lightly around the work.]

... There's nothing particularly strange here. [Vaguely disappoint. :\] Aside from the obvious.

From:

[Rin follows and looks at the graves too. So what if he doesn't know what to look for.]

Guess we'll have ta search somewhere else.

From:

[Neither does Allen! Who is looking quite thoroughly as well. WHAT OF IT.]

[ also sounding vaguely disappointed, but being more upbeat about it: ] Ah, well. We get to leave with the shovels, at the very least. Where should we look next? There's the library we passed by earlier, a hospital, a school, a market, some churches, train stations, and the carnival.

I've been meaning to look over the amusement part since it became inactive again.
