[Just tilting his head a bit and listening. He wants to know what Blacky said too.]

[He looks at the cat on his shoulder.]

He just thinks that they aren't so big and he could do that. [Looks like Blacky has some pride too.]

From:

[>Eye that terror of a scratch.
>Eye Blacky.

>Exercise diplomacy.]

[ bending over slightly to smile at Blacky: ] Oh? Suppose I'll have to take your word for it!

From:

[Yukio actually cracks a little smile at that. Poor, poor Allen.]

From:

[Blacky mews happily up at Allen and then pauses. The cat seems to concentrate a moment and then looks a Rin, worry in his eyes.]

Eh?! What do ya mean you're stuck? Ya can't be stuck!

From:

Stuck?

[What do you mean, stuck. Allen's hands dart up in reflex, though they stop short of actually lifting Blacky and sort of just... hover in obvious concern.

You're not stuck to Rin, are you.]

From:

[Aaaand back to serious business.]

He can't change forms?

From:

That's what he's sayin'. [Rin crouches down to talk to the cat.] Try again.

[Blacky seems quite a bit more distraught with the situation now. Squinting his eyes closed he makes an almost angry distressed sound. Rin turns back towards Yukio.]

He can't for some reason.

From:

[Alright, the stuck comment makes more sense now. Unfortunately, it doesn't make their situation any less bewildering and/or alarming. Looks between the brothers.]

What's the matter?

From:

Blacky can normally change forms. He gets... much larger.

From:

Yeah. A lot! [Rin throws his arms up to emphasize this.]

Somethin's got him all messed up.

From:

[...At least that explains Blacky's comment about those scratch marks, and really Allen, is it that strange coming from a cat with two tails. Must be a 'familiar' thing.]

Has he tried since you arrived?

From:

[Yeah, sure. A 'familiar' thing. Totally. >_>

... Good question. Looking to Rin and Blacky.]

From:

[Rin shrugs and looks a Blacky who makes a fairly pathetic sad little noise.]

No. This is the first time. [Rin's grip on his sword bag tightens. He's starting to wonder if he won't change either.]

From:

[Oh, Blacky. Tim's wings sag in sympathy. We canon godmod sidekicks have to stick together.]

So it's possible there's something in the park keeping him from changing, or he simply hasn't been able to change forms since he got here. I wish I could tell you more, but we've never had such cases before.

We'll have to experiment elsewhere later.

From:

Yeah. It could still work. [Blackly stares at them all flatly and then hops up onto Rin's shoulder. He knows it won't work.]

From:

[Noting that flat look, Blacky. Allen is a fluent speaker of body language, expressions, and nuances of tone, and it apparently extends to golems and four-legged creatures.]

Ah― Will it be a problem if he can't?

[Whether for Blacky's health or the investigation.]

From:

[Yukio looks to be caught somewhere between thoughtful and something a bit more reproachful.]

It shouldn't be.

From:

Nah. He'll be okay. [Rin hopes so anyhow. If he wasn't going to then he figures he'd speak up. Blacky doesn't seem to entirely agree, but isn't arguing either. He just crawls onto Rin's head to slump there.]

From:

[Sees that look, but without any context to go on, he'll just assume Yukio's unhappy with the situation in general. Tim drifts lower to wave a tiny hand at Blacky, probably meant to be a consoling gesture, though he's still staying out of paw's reach. Them pesky cats and their pesky reflexes.]

That's good, at least. Let's finish up here so we can leave and see if it works when he's out of the park.

[Yukio nods and moves on to take in what he can while they're still in the park. Doubtful that they'll find anything more useful than they already have, but it's still worth the look.]

From:

[Blacky is too upset at the situation to bother Tim. He does follow the golem with his eyes though. Rin nods at Allen.]

Yeah.

[He walks along after Yukio having given up trying to look like he knows what he's doing anymore. Best just to follow Yukio's lead for now.]

[That makes two of us, Rin. Allen trails after the brothers as a sort of rear guard, keeping his eyes peeled for anything out of the ordinary, but otherwise leaving Yukio to take the lead.]
